The implementation of an online inquiry and search utilizing a partial vehicle identification number (VIN) was effective December 2, 1990. The new search procedure will allow entry of a minimum of the ______ right-most characters of the VIN in all inquiries to the vehicle file, or to search vehicle records in the wanted or missing person files.
