Yes this does. By using so many acronyms in everyday life many forget correct spelling and punctuation.
I think that young people who communicate using slang terms really impact their writing skills in a negative way. If you really focus on people who use slang you can always see that most of them never capitalize words or even use punctuation which is horrible. Since we live in a society where social media is being used most of the day people get used to such words and don't even realize that they use slang which means that they have adapted to such words and started using them in everyday conversations. In my opinion slang terms is causing our youth to be dumbed down.
