The Freedmen's Bureau
The Freedmen's Bureau formally remembered as the Bureau of Refugees was instituted in 1865 by Congress to assist the millions of ancient black laborers and impoverished whites in the South in the consequence of the Civil War. Many white Southerners, examined the Bureau's legitimacy, which sparks the ethnic clash in the South and finally led to the collapse of the Bureau.
