A group of ladies meet for an afternoon tea party. They bring all their cats. In all, there are 26 heads and 84 feet. How many ladies and how many cats are in the room

Cats:

2 (22-y) + 4y = 72 feet

44 - 2y + 4y = 72

2y = 72 - 44

2y/2 = 28/2

y = 14


Ladies:

x = 22 - y

x = 22 - 14

x = 8
