the power goes out as sandra is trying to get dressed. If she has 4 white T-shirts and 10 colored T-shirts in her drawer, is it likely that she will pick a colored T-shirt in the dark? What is the probability she will pick a colred T-shirt/ Explain your answer.

4 white shirts, 10 colored shirts
Total  =  4 + 10 = 14

Probability of an event =    Number / Total number

For white  T shirt =    4/14

For colored T shirt = 10/14

Since the probability of colored shirt  10/14 is greater than for white 4 / 14,

Hence she is more likely to pick a colored T shirt .


Probability for colored T shirt =   10/14   = 5/7.
