ANSWER:

The toys with Fanny and Simon is 432.

SOLUTION:

Let, the number of toys with fanny be x and number of toys with Simon be y.

Given that, Fanny had 5 times as many toys as Simon.

Then, x = 5y ---- (1)

And after their aunt gave each of them 108 toys, Fanny had twice as many toys as Simon.

x + 108 = 2(y + 108)

x + 108 = 2y + 216

x – 2y = 216 – 108

x – 2y = 108 ---- (2)

Now substitute the (1) in (2)

5y – 2y = 108

3y = 108

y = 36

Again substitute y value in (1)

x = [tex]5 \times 36[/tex]

x = 180

Now, total toys with them = (x + 108) + (y + 108)

= (180 + 108) + (36 + 108)  = 432

Hence, the toys with fanny and simon is 432.
