He was scared, this much power would corrupt his heart. And he will lose focus of the reality. Drunk with this power, he may try to turn on those who brought him this power.

He was Caesar´s favorite, they were too close and knew the senators wanted to kill Caesar, if he did not take part in it he would probably be the next on or maybe he could be alone in a trap made by his ald friends.
