A tactic used long ago by conquering nations on those they sought to control was to
invade the land and salt the fields. What were they hoping to accomplish by doing
this?
Usually when invading they often to salt on the fields to signify a “curse” it made it so that way nothing would ever grow there again. During these times salt was a very valuable resource so it also gave insult to injury.
