based on the assignment "slavery in the constitution" why did the farmers of the constitution allow slavery to be legal in the United States despite claiming "all men are created equal"?
Probably since back then most of the slaves were brought to the Us, so they arent citizens. All men only meant white men that owned property, unfortunetly
