The sum of two numbers 94 → x + y = 94

Their difference is 12 → x - y = 12

We have:

x + y = 94

x - y = 12

----------------  Add both equations

2x = 106

x = 106/2

x = 53

Using first equation:

x + y = 94

53 + y = 94

y = 94 - 53

y = 41
