NARRATIVE WRITING ACTIVITY, PART 1

Write a fictional short story. In this activity you will be brainstorming ideas for the plot and setting of your story.

Follow the directions to begin planning you fictional narrative.

First think about the conflict of your story. Identify the major problem the main character or characters face. Then, consider how the conflict could be resolved.

1) Describe the major of your story.

2) Brainstorm ideas to plan a basic plot for your story. Try to include general details for each element of the plot. You can use ideas from stories you have read or from your own experience, but the plot should be original.

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Avery in a small home with her family.
One day, she got to explore outside in the spring.
The forest started to talk to her— and suddenly picked her up! Avery screamed, “ Help me, help me, help me! “ Nobody heard her. She was taken into a different magical dimension and away from her home. The forest was actually just nurturing her and trying to make her have fun.
In the end, she was returned home and she loved the magical forest.
