picking up litter and throwing it away in a garbage can. this will prevent the debris from blowing into the water, therefore stopping the litter from polluting the waters. another way to prevent water pollution is to dispose of toxic chemicals properly, and not disposing them into the drain or flushing them down the toilet. it may not seem like a lot, but if you put the millions of people who pour their toxic chemicals into drains, it really adds up. many household chemicals can actually be recycled! hope this helps!
