probably it's 8 or 4. and as $8 is the initial fee, that sounds like the starting value. :-)
the line equation you need is the slope intercept form y = mx + b where m = gradient and b = y intercept.
in this case, y = 4x + 8 where x = number of movies seen, and y = total cost in $
for this line m = 4 and b = 8. hence, indeed, the y intercept is 8
