Application: Charles is paining the den. Two walls are 9 ft high and 15 ft
The other two walls are 8 ft high and 10 ft long. Charles bought one gallon of paint that will cover 440 square feet of wall space. Does he have enough paint? Explain.

first of all , you need to find the area of both walls and then add them together to get the amount of square feet in one wall. You also have to multiply the answer by 2 to get the square feet that need to be painted.
      
    19*15=135  -->  135*2= 270
     8*10= 80    --->    80*2= 160

once you have done this you add 160+270, and you get your which is yes, because there is only 430 squared feet that need to be painted.
