The term speciation has to do with the fact that the organism begins to spread into new species due to the activities of the forces of evolution. Now we know that a habitat is the dwelling place of an organism.

Also, as a new habitat has been found, the individuals in the species will begin to adapt to the new environment leading to the emergence of new characteristics.

The emergence of these new characteristics in the new habitat is what ultimately leads to the emergence of new species or speciation.
