You should be about to repeat the procedure shown in problem 1.

Take each number and break it down by 100's, 10's and 1's. Then estimate the answer to the nearest 100's or 1000's

I will do number 2 and you can do 3 and 4.

2. 500 + 10 + 9
    300  + 70 +2
==============
     800 + 80 + 11 

So I would estimate the answer is near 900 (because the 10's is greater than 50)

Makes sense?

3. 731 = 700 + 30 + 1
207= 200 + 7
-----------------
900 + 30 + 8

I would estimate that the answer is 900 because the tens amount of tens is less than 50 so you would round down.
