Respuesta :
The acceleration of the rock would be constant as well as the velocity of the rock as it falls.
How does the rock move?
We know that the motion of the rock would be in accordance to the principles of the motion of an object under gravity. If we drop the rock, we have to know that the rock would be acted upon by a system of forces. The system of the forces that act on the rock would determine the magnitude of the acceleration of the rock.
The forces that act on the rock as it is falling are as follows;
1) Weight of the rock
2) Drag force
We know that these two forces do actually act in the opposite direction to each other as the rock is falling. The velocity of the rock would change greatly as the rock falls. The velocity of the rock would be reducing gradually and this would continue until the rock would attain a constant terminal velocity.
