My mother and god because those are the only people who planned my existence
In general, people are affected by different things. No two people might have similar beliefs and opinions thus making their identities unique.
The question seems to arise from Frank Tashlin's story The Bear That Wasn't, a story that focuses on the complexity of identity.
There was a bear who one day woke up in the forest surrounded by a factory. The factory managers and vice presidents try to convince the bear that he is just a man who wears a fur coat and needs a shave. The bear keeps denying no he is not. They take him to circus and zoo and ask them if he is a bear, they say no too. The bear starts working in the factory.
The winter comes, and the bear is sitting in the snow, cold and sad. Thinking he is must not a bear, he is just a silly man who needs a shave and wears a coat made of fur.
He gets up and goes to a cave where it is warm and cosy, feeling like a bear again who was ready to hibernate. In the end, it seems the bear is back to feeling like himself.
As per the story, the one's who can have the greatest effect on how we think about ourselves are the ones who we chose to surround ourselves with, it can be our friends and family members.
In case we are staying away from our friends and family, it can be our immediate neighbors or whoever we interact with or hold important in our day to day lives.
