Chromosomes
DNA in the nucleus is found in structures called chromosomes.
Chromosomes are thread-like structures in which DNA molecule is tightly arranged within the nucleus. Chromosomes functions by ensuring that the replication and distribution of DNA is performed properly during cell division. Each chromosome has a constriction point (centromere), which separates the chromosome into two parts. In humans, each cell usually has 23 pairs of chromosomes, which is 46 all together.
