Another synthetic polymer used for sutures which are absorbable in the body is polyglycolide. if nylon is called a polyamide, by analogy what would one call polyglycolide

In a simple analogy, if nylon is to polyamide then a synthetic polymer is for polyglycolide. Polyglycolide used for sutures because of its tensile strength,  smooth passage to tissues also the absorbancy rate is faster than the traditional sutures used.
