He was born in England and travelled to many places until he reached America, specifically in Virginia. He arrived in 1608 and directly started writing A True Relation of Such Occurrences and Accidents of Note As Hath Happened in Virginia but is better known for its shortened title A General History of Virginia, New England, and the Summer Isles. This book is considered to be the very first English book written in America.
