Because the increase and advancement of the following, it became a very cultural empire and many people from the world came to study under their rules. When they go back to where they first came from, they spread the message of Islam and the Muslims' teachings that they learnt from their teachers from the empire and they would they would also make the muslim influence spread exponentially across the globe. From the textbook pg number 266 in says The walls formed a circle, with the caliph's palace in the center. Poets, scholars, philosophers, and entertainers from all over the Muslim world flocked to the Abbasid court. Under the Abbasids, Baghdad exceeded Constantinople in size and wealth.
